Health Surveillance

Health surveillance provides organisations with information which helps to protect employees from illnesses caused by being exposed to health risks at work.  It is a systematic process to detect early signs of work-related ill- health, and enables organisations to manage these health risks effectively.

Risk assessment is an important facet of health surveillance and organisations need to assess whether any employee is at risk, and if so, health surveillance may be needed to comply with legislation (Management of Health at Safety at Work 1999; Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and Noise at Work Regulations 2005)

Examples of health surveillance can include:

1. Hearing assessment – Audiometery
2. Lung function screening – Spirometry
3. Hand/Arm Vibration assessment
4. Skin surveillance

Health surveillance medicals can be performed on-site using Summit’s Mobile Medical unit minimising disruption to your workforce and production.
